I have a PhD in English from Cornell University, with many years of experience writing, editing, coaching, consulting, and teaching writing at the college level.
- If you are a creative writer of fiction, nonfiction, or creative nonfiction, I can work with you at any stage of the process. I can consult with you at early stages on structure, plot development, and character development. I can edit at the rough draft or polished stage for tone, voice, flow, rhythm, syntax, and grammar.
- If you are working on an academic essay, report, thesis, dissertation, article, or monograph, I can help you develop and complete your work. I have worked with students at both undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as with professionals, in many fields at many institutions. Graduate students – I can read your manuscript, consult with you, and copyedit your work before your advisor or committee sees it. I am familiar with thesis and dissertation requirements.
- If you are having trouble getting your thesis or dissertation done – stuck, working inefficiently, lost, avoiding your advisor or committee, thinking about giving up – consider engaging my dissertation and thesis coaching service. I can help you rethink your approach, develop and implement a working schedule, address your fears and emotional blocks, and create a healthy relationship with your advisor or committee. In our coaching partnership we meet regularly via Zoom – or in person if you are in the Portland, Oregon area – to keep you sane and productive as you work toward finishing your project.
- If English is not your first language, I can help you write correctly and fluently. I have taught academic writing for international graduate students and have taught English overseas.
